What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser so it can recognise the browser again later. Similar technologies, such as the browser’s local or session storage, work in a comparable way. Under Austrian law (§ 165(3) TKG 2021), cookies that are not strictly necessary may only be used with your consent.

WordPress also saves a small note in your browser’s session storage (wpEmojiSettingsSupports) to check whether your device can show emoji. It contains no personal data and is deleted when you close the tab.
What does not use cookies
- Fonts: they are stored on our own server, so no connection to Google Fonts is made.
- Share buttons: “Pin it”, Facebook, WhatsApp and Email are plain links. Nothing is sent to these services unless you click one.
- Contact form: messages are sent to us without any cookies.
Affiliate links and ads
When you click an affiliate link, for example to Amazon, the retailer may set a cookie on its own website to record that you came from GreenThumb Notes. This only happens after you have left our site, and the retailer’s cookie policy applies. When ads delivered by Mediavine appear on this website, Mediavine and its partners may use cookies as described in our Privacy Policy.

You can see, block and delete cookies in your browser settings at any time:
You can stop Google Analytics in every browser with Google’s opt-out add-on. For interest-based ads, Your Online Choices lets you opt out of many ad networks at once. If you block all cookies, the articles still work, but embedded pins may not load.
Your rights
You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the rights listed in our Privacy Policy, including the right to complain to the Austrian Datenschutzbehörde (www.dsb.gv.at).
